Face and Neck Lift

Facial ageing is accompanied by skin wrinkles, skin excess or jowls which may be associated with sagging and personally unacceptable contour. Excessive fat deposition and facial muscle weakening enhance the ageing appearance.

A facelift rejuvenates the appearance by correcting ageing characteristics and addresses problems of the face and neck. A neck lift may involve the neck and lower face only.

A facelift is a common procedure and involves a number of techniques some or all of which may be applicable to individual patients.  The surgical outcomes depend on the person’s age, ageing, the quality of the facial skin, lifestyle and the procedure.  A facelift may be done in conjunction with facial skin resurfacing such as dermabrasion or laser resurfacing of the skin.

Other facial procedures listed below may be performed in conjunction.

Brow Lift

The brow is often an entrée to the face itself. The brow is often prone to show wrinkles and sagging at an early stage. Ptosis or drooping of the eyebrows may occur adding to the ageing appearance of the brow and upper eyelids.

A brow lift elevates the brow, smooths forehead wrinkles, lessens frown lines and can decrease the distance between the hairline above and eyebrows below giving a more youthful appearance.

Eyelid Surgery

Both upper and lower eyelids may sag and appear to be excessive with facial aging. Excess skin and fat pads or bags may result in a tired and aged appearance. Eyelid skin may even partially block the line of vision. These anomalies are corrected with upper or lower lid blepharoplasties.

Rhinoplasty / Nose Surgery

The nose is said to be the keystone of the face whereby one’s initial glance at the face is attracted by the nose and eyelid expression prior to encompassing the whole face.

The size, symmetry and shape of the nose may be out of balance in some people and need correction.  Nasal defects may develop as a result of birth deformity, injury, infection, tumours or even abnormal growth and be accompanied by airway obstruction.  Nasal obstruction can be corrected at the time of surgery.
